Lave, Tamara R.

Expert on sex offender laws and campus sexual misconduct. Her book, Sexual Assault on Campus: Defending Due Process, was published in 2022 by Cambridge University Press. In 2019, Lave was the co-editor of The Cambridge Handbook on Policing in the United States and her chapter was on police sexual violence. Lave is also a contributor to Edward J. Imwinkelried’s treatise, Uncharged Misconduct Evidence.

Before getting her PhD, Lave was a public defender for ten years in San Diego, California (United States) where she represented clients in a variety of cases including rape, child molestation, and sexually violent predator commitment. Lave received her B.A. from Haverford College, her J.D. from Stanford University, and her PhD from UC Berkeley (United States).
