Master's degree in Legal Argumentation from University of Alicante, Spain, and master's degree in Evidential Legal Reasoning from University of Girona, Spain. He has been a legal advisor at the Criminal Cassation Chamber for 10 years. He has been editor of the Revista Judicial of the Costa Rica Judiciary and of the journal Ius Doctrina of the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas. Founder and editor of the now defunct journal Paquidermo.
