Lawyer from the Central University of Ecuador, with postgraduate studies in: Oral Litigation in trial by the International University of La Rioja (Spain), master's degree in Criminal Law by the Central University of Ecuador, specialist in Jurisdictional Guarantees and Integral Reparation by the Institute of High National Studies (Ecuador), master's degree in Legal Argumentation by the universities of Alicante (Spain) and Palermo (Italy), master's degree in Evidential Legal Reasoning by the universities of Genoa (Italy) and Girona (Spain). He holds a master's degree in Advanced Criminal Procedural Law from University of Barcelona (Spain) and has several specialisations and advanced training courses in: legislative argumentation, evidential legal reasoning, interpretation and weighting of rules, oral litigation and advanced cross-examination, and philosophy and theory of law. He is also the director of the Centre for Permanent Training in Constitutional Defence & Criminal Defence in Ecuador, where he researches and teaches courses on criminal defence, constitutional defence, evidential legal reasoning and legal and factual argumentation.
