Professor of Civil Procedure at University of Genoa, member of the International Association of Procedural Law (IAPL), of the Associazione Italiana fra gli Studiosi del Processo Civile and of the Board of Directors of the newly created Associazione Italiana fra gli Studiosi della Prova.

He is the author of numerous publications, including the monographs La consulenza tecnica nel processo civile. Problemi e funzionalità (Giuffrè, 2011), Processi civili in evoluzione. Una prospettiva comparata (with Angelo Dondi and Paolo Comoglio, also translated into Spanish and Portuguese) (2nd ed., Giuffrè 2018), Contributo allo studio della trattazione nella storia del processo civile italiano. 1815 - 1942 (Giappichelli, 2017) and Filosofie di riforma di riforma della fase preparatoria nel processo civile (Genova University Press, 2021), as well as numerous other articles and contributions in leading journals in the field, especially on scientific evidence, legal ethics and procedural reform, also from a comparative perspective. He has been a researcher at the Pennsylvania Law School in Philadelphia and at the Federal University Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre. 

Speaker at various national and international conferences. He participates in training courses both at the Scuola Superiore della Magistratura and for professionals, especially in the field of technical office consultancy.
