PhD, Associate Professor of Statistics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice and Senior Researcher at the School of Criminal Justice of the University of Lausanne. Silvia Bozza has authored four monographs edited by Wiley & Sons and Springer, and more than 60 peer-reviewed articles in scientific and law journals. She is co-author of the leading book on forensic statistics, Statistics and the Evaluation of Evidence for Forensic Scientists, (Aitken, Taroni, Bozza, 2021, Wiley & Sons). The other three books are on the use of graphical probabilistic models, Bayesian Networks for Probabilistic Inference and Decision Analysis in Forensic Science, (Taroni, Biedermann, Bozza, Garbolino, Aitken, 2014, Wiley & Sons), on Bayesian data analysis, Data Analysis in Forensic Science: A Bayesian Decision Perspective, (Taroni, Bozza, Biedermann, Garbolino, Aitken, 2010, Wiley & Sons) and on the use of the Bayes factor for the evaluation of evidence, Bayes Factors for Forensic Decision Analyses with R, (Bozza, Taroni, Biedermann, 2022, Springer).

Her research interests include Bayesian inference and decision theory, probabilistic graphical models and Bayesian hierarchical random effect models.
