Co-director of the Health and Human Rights Initiative of the O'Neill Institute for National & Global Health Law of Georgetown University, as well as visiting professor of law at Georgetown University. He served as the executive director of the O'Neill Institute from 2010 to 2018.

He has extensive research and teaching experience in the field of health law, with a particular focus on the actions and omissions of corporate actors that have an impact on health. He has taught on these issues and conducted various training activities in different countries around the world. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as the International Journal of Law in Context, the Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics and Globalization and Health, among others.

He has worked on public health projects with multiple national and international organisations, including the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States, the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization. He also collaborates with civil society organisations, such as the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, and is president of the Fundación Interamericana del Corazón–Argentina. He has also acted as an advisor on public health matters for Latin American governments.
