Professor of Epistemology at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests include epistemology, philosophy of law, logic and decision theory.
He has published one book – Between Probability and Certainty (Oxford University Press, 2016) – and over 30 papers in journals including Mind, Noûs, Philosophical Psychology and the International Journal of Evidence and Proof.
He has been an investigator on three major research projects funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council – Varieties of Risk (2020-2023), The Whole Truth (2016-2017) and Justification and Probability (2014-2015).
