Professor of Procedural Law, director of the master's degree in Procedural Law and Litigation and of the postgraduate course in Procedural Law in the Universidad de Montevideo. Former president of Consejo Directivo del Centro de Estudios de Justicia de las Américas (CEJA-OEA).

His main areas of research include justice system reforms, especially in the interaction between Procedural Law and Public Policy. He has been a consultant on justice reforms for the IDB, FOMIN, WORLD BANK, CEJA, PNUD and various states.

Arbitrator and expert in highly complex jurisdictional processes. Coordinator of the "Red Uruguaya de Lenguaje Jurídico Claro" and member of the Cátedra Latinoamericana de Lenguaje Jurídico Claro.
