John Henry Wigmore Professor of Law at Northwestern University, in Chicago. He is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of evidence, criminal procedure, and constitutional law.
He has published seven books and over 160 articles in major law reviews across the world. His most recent work focuses on the nature of juridical proof from a perspective of naturalized epistemology.
He has worked for over 20 years with various groups in China, including the Supreme People’s Court which appointed him as its chief foreign adviser to assist in the reform of evidence law, to help formulate proposals for law reform and to advance rule of law values in China. He received both the Yangtse River Scholar Award and the Friend of China Award. He was also the chief foreign adviser on reform of the law of evidence to the Parliament of Tanzania and the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau.
