Professor of Civil Justice Systems at the University of Oxford. He has published extensively on a wide range of procedural issues including collective redress, costs & funding, disclosure, privilege and judicial bias.
He is the current academic member of the Civil Justice Council, an independent statutory advisory body responsible for overseeing the modernisation of the civil justice system in England & Wales, and the current General Editor of the Civil Justice Quarterly, a peer reviewed journal dedicated to publishing procedural scholarship from around the world.
